Collaboration With The WHS Fab Lab

A wonderful resource at Watertown High School is the WHS Fab Lab in the school library. In this space students can build all types of projects using state of the art technology such as 3D printers, 3D scanners, laser cutters and vinyl cutters. Sewing machines and other traditional tools can also be used in the fab lab. The creative possibilities are endless! Here is the 3D printer with a project in progress.

It has been exciting for my students to have the opportunity to collaborate with Ms. Lloyd and Ms. Piazza in the Fab Lab. They are so skilled and helpful and work to make the fab lab a part of our classroom. All of my classes participate in an introduction class in the WHS Fab Lab during their semester class. It has been exciting to see the creative ideas coming from this collaboration.

Here are photos of the students learning in the Fab Lab and some of the projects in progress. Evamarie Alessandroni and Ani Manjikian created the projects shown using the laser cutter.
